Manager's Toolkit: Part One – Feedback & Problem Solving

Join us for the first session of the "Manager's Toolkit" two-part series, designed to help you strengthen your leadership abilities. In this session, we’ll focus on two key skills every manager needs: providing effective feedback and resolving challenges. You’ll discover easy-to-apply strategies for delivering feedback that drives performance and growth, while also learning practical techniques to solve problems and resolve conflicts.

About the Speakers:

Brittney Huschka, SHRM-CP

Passionate about creating a positive workplace environment, Brittney currently holds the position of Team and Culture coordinator at The Monument (formerly the Civic Center). Here she advises organization leadership on workplace culture initiatives and helps to foster strong employee relationships. She is an active member of the Black Hills Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Board of Directors and earned her SHRM professional certification earlier in 2024. Brittney holds a degree in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources from Black Hills State University.

Alexis Benne, HR Consultant & Co-Founder

Alexis has 20 years working as an HR Professional in a variety of industries as a consultant and within corporate and non-profit settings. In her current venture as the HR Consultant and Co-Founder of Athena HR Consulting alongside Bev Morris, Alexis strives to continue advancing the HR profession and helping businesses reach their goals.

Alexis holds a master’s degree in industrial-Organizational Psychology as well as bachelor’s in psychology and maintains a SHRM-CP certification. She has been active in the Black Hills Society for Human Resources Management (BHSHRM), for which she served in the Chapter President and Past-President roles. Alexis has excellent problem solving, teamwork, relationship building, and leadership skills. She has demonstrated success with project management, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS and HR technology platforms, internal ‘HR’ and external audits, leader development, performance management, policy development, research, and data analysis.

Bev Morris, HR Consultant & Co-Founder

Bev is an accomplished Human Resources Professional who is enthusiastic about the profession and has enjoyed mentoring HR professionals throughout her career. Bev believes organizations can excel by embracing HR as a strategic partner. She adopts an HR philosophy of positive and productive collaboration, moving away from the mindset that HR is just an “enforcer” of the rules.

Bev’s HR career has spanned across multiple industries in multiple states. Her favorite position (until starting Athena) was serving as Director of Human Resources for Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country for 15 ½ years where she was a key member of the Senior Leadership Team for the organization which has 28 facilities across 7 states
